Local hobby shops are likely to have some of the items necessary to repair a clock, including replacement hands, numbers and chains. But for the more cuckoo specific parts, it is probably best to deal directly with a clockmaker.

Although almost any plastic bird could be used to create the visual effect of the cuckoo clock, it is important to buy a cuckoo designed to emulate the look and sound of the original clock.  Many of these birds lift their tails or flap their wings as they open their beaks to announce the hour.  Be sure when looking for a replacement cuckoo to find one that has all the capabilities of the original.

Restoring a broken cuckoo clock is not as formidable a task as it once was, but it does require patient and finding the proper parts.
